| Maintenance Technician |

POSITION SUMMARY: Assists with the care and maintenance for all facilities, exhibits, and grounds at the EarlyWorks Children’s Museum, ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF WORK: · Performs multi-craft functions, which may include non-technical electrical, plumbing, grounds, carpentry, locksmith, custodial, HVAC, and painting. · Operates a truck, forklift, and other motorized, and power, equipment during the course of regular duties.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: · Knowledge of the common practices, methods, and materials used in maintenance and construction. · Ability to understand and follow specific written and oral instructions. · Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time · Ability to walk for extended periods of time · Ability to use hand and mechanical tools and equipment. · Ability to communicate and convey information to laborers, peers, and management.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED is desired and some experience in performing facilities maintenance or general construction work; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the above listed knowledge, skills and abilities.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed both inside and outside in various weather conditions. The Employee can be exposed to smoke, fumes, high noise levels, vibrations, dust, chemicals, and offensive fumes and odors. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work requires the physical ability to stand for extended periods of time; perform continuous repetitious lifting of heavy tools, containerized and non-containerized debris, materials, and equipment for extended periods of time; and the ability to repetitiously climb on and off machinery. Work also involves bending, stooping, twisting, pulling, turning, and squatting while performing essential functions; and the ability to operate saws and equipment associated with the work.
