New for 2018 - Come with your trusted EarlyWorks team members as we take our field trip programs on the road! Beginning this spring, the EarlyWorks team will be venturing outside the museum walls, to explore the unique history and culture of our community. Through the newly created Museum on the Go program, EarlyWorks will offer your students the opportunity to visit and explore parts of our community that are not normally included in field trip programming. Each year we will be selecting new and exciting destinations. As we explore our community, your students will enjoy the same hands-on educational programming that you have come to expect and trust from the EarlyWorks Family of Museums. Like all of our traditional field trips, all Museum on the Go programs will be educationally sound, grade-specific and taught by the EarlyWorks team of tour guides. Enjoying a Museum on the Go program is just as easy as visiting one of the museums; reserve your groups date, arrive at the special venue, and our team will do the rest.
EarlyWorks invites you to come and experience a special end of the school year field trip on the riverfront. Learn about the Native Americans that originally lived in the area. Meet James Ditto and hear his firsthand account of running the ferry in the early 1800’s along with other history about the towns that grew up along the river. Students will participate in river navigation skills, perform marching drills, discover what soldiers carried in their haversacks, and discuss day to day life in the camps. Classes will also meet with our resident doctor and learn about Native American natural remedies and medicines
